Rice County Booking and Intake

Booking charges are not always final court charges. Money-deposit information in the older visiting rules refers to kiosks in the visiting area of the Annex or the lower lobby of the LEC. Because the new Public Safety Center opened after those older references, verify current kiosk location and deposit rules with the jail before sending funds.
Rice County Jail Records Requests
If the roster does not show the record needed, use Rice County's data-practices process. The county policy adopted January 6, 2026 says requests go to the Data Practices Responsible Authority, designee, or authorized department employee. For public data, the requester cannot be forced to use a form and is not required to identify themself. Inspection of public data carries no fee.
Copies may involve actual costs. For 100 or fewer black-and-white letter or legal paper copies, the county may charge no more than 25 cents per page under Minn. Stat. 13.03. MNDOC Lookup in Rice County
Minnesota Correctional Facility - Faribault often creates confusion because it is physically in Rice County but is not part of the county jail roster. It is a state prison at 1101 Linden Lane in Faribault. The DOC facility page lists Tracy Beltz as warden, identifies the prison as Level 2 minimum and Level 3 medium custody, and states a combined capacity of 2,000 adult males. The 5/25/2026 DOC daily profile reported 1,944 adults on site and 1,969 under case responsibility.
